Project Description
The architectural firm of Shepley Bulfinch Richardson &
Abbott in Boston, Massachusetts engaged Euthenics to provide
medical equipment planning services for a new hospital in Elgin,
Illinois owned by Sherman Health Systems. With the planning portion
of the project drawing to a close, Sherman Health Systems has
hired Euthenics to provide Procurement Management Services, Activation
and Occupancy Planning, Product Handling, and Construction Administration.
Sherman Hospital is a regional heart center located just west
of Chicago where it has been for 117 years. The $280 million
replacement facility will be constructed on 154 acres of land
in Elgin and will have 275 to 300 beds in private rooms. The
project is currently estimated at 550,000 square feet with an
additional medical office building of 80 100,000 square
feet. The existing hospital campus will be redeveloped to an
outpatient facility. The plans for the existing campus include
an urgent care center, doctors offices and some administrative
spaces.
Procurement management and Activation / Occupancy planning
is underway. The project is scheduled for completion in the 4th
quarter of 2010.
